“To see a world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.”….William Blake
As has been said, the mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.
When I was a child, I used to muse on the idea of just how small or just how large the Universe might stretch to. I knew that there was no available answer to my self imposed inquiry, and so I had to come up with my own answer. In my child’s mind I imagined that the big and the small were propagated into ongoing dimensional extensions of themselves. However, I imagined that at some inscrutable juncture the big and the small would have to curve back into a point of origin in order to reassemble back into the oneness from which they originated, and would then proceed to extend onward and outward, once again, in a repetitive recycling of creation’s forces.
In my child’s mind I could not rationally fathom that the 3 dimensional formats of the large and the small could just keep on progressing farther and farther away from one another out beyond some unreachable infinity. There would have to be some highly dynamic unity, a One, which held them together by reassembling their dimensional forces at an origin where they would then resurrect their own continual process. That is how I imagined it inside of myself.
I was influenced at the time by a playful illiterate woman named Josie, who worked in our household as a caretaker for over 35 years. She had no education of the formal sort. She could not read a recipe to cook from. She did everything by feeling and instinct. She communicated with the family pets via some kind of non verbal psychic process. She could locate lost objects in the house by pointing in the general direction where they could be found.
She often spoke or mumbled a concoction of gibberish terms. The best term she used was “the Gowba Scowba” which my brother and I took to mean the unexplained mystery of things. She used this term when she felt a preponderant, perhaps mystical, type of thought or feeling that she did not know how to articulate.
As a child I imagined infinite dimensions which would allow for the resurrection of the large and the small via some unity of process. Later, as an adult, I learned about the new scientific theoretical positing of alternate, or parallel, realities which abound infinitely via the mysterious manifestations of Consciousness…such ideas as have been championed by Nobel laureates and other noted physicists in past years.
I also thought that time, the so-called 4th dimension, behaved similarly in a fractal and holographic manner. At that point, growing up in Alabama in the 1950’s, I was unaware of any of the terminologies and theories which were emerging, such as things fractal, holographic, and quantum. However, I could have well been entangled and informed at a subconscious, and then also at a conscious level, by some kind of field influence.
My recollection is that I often went about as a child in a controlled daydream except when I was engaged in the focused concentration of being a student, or engaging in athletics. The effortless field of the Gowba Scowba, at least as I imagined it, seemed to hold more sway for me than other things…unless, of course, I was immersed in boyhood adventures, mischief, and the endless array of outdoor barefoot dramas with my Alabama friends.
In my post surgeon chapter, I began to assist my own understanding of horizontal and vertical and circular time. I spoke with clients about their Now experience as being informed by both past memories and future memories. I believe that we can select future memories from an infinite field of choice points as the focal points of what we wish for and what we want to manifest. I also believe that the future memory attracts us to it.
The term “choice points” was first used by quantum physicist Hugh Everett III, in 1957, in his “Many Worlds” theory of alternate parallel realities. In 1957 I was 6 years old. I was not a child prodigy studying quantum theory. I was still in kindergarten, oblivious even to the fact that the trauma of first grade, and all subsequent grades of schooling, lay ahead of me. Staying barefoot, for as long as I could, was one of my prevailing priorities.
It was Jonathan Swift who said, “Vision is the art of seeing things which are invisible”…….
In 1960 I met Helen Keller, thanks to my mother being friends with Ms. Keller, and being physician to some of her family. This engaging, interesting, and intimate meeting with Ms. Keller accentuated and furthered my curiosity and imagination about the unseen world around us. Even though we carried on in parlor small talk, she was a profound communicator. I remember her 80 year old animated presence, her speech, her light, and her touch.
I kept my boyhood musings to myself. It became apparent to me that members of my immediate cultural circle did not think like me. I also did not know how to express what I was experiencing, and so I was intimidated by that handicap. The collegiality of open discussion and inquiry in my social culture could not be resuscitated…not because it was dead…it had just never been born to die from.
Helen Keller’s kiss on my forehead was a good enough initiation into the unseen world, and I was content with that.
The Scale of the Universe
I have written this somewhat ambitious Journal entry to offer some information for your consideration on matters transdimensional and quantum, should you wish to stretch out and consider other extensions of the dimensional scope of our being. There are a number of helpful and informative web links in this composition which encompass some of the basic material well enough. A leisurely perusal of these links may stretch your mind beyond its usual composure, which won’t hurt anything. Please view the links as your current time and interest allows.
In the web presentation, which follows right below, your mind will be stretched from large and expansive extensions from the realms of the Hubble Deep Space Field down to giga parsecs and yottameters, and then all the way down into the land of Strings and String Theory, which rests at 0.00000000001 yoctometers. This remote region of relative smallness is 1 x 10 to the minus 35th power.
What is yet beyond that realm of such a large smallness and that which envelopes all?
All objects smaller than an attometer, which 1 x’s 10 to the minus 16th power, are, as yet, unmeasured. Nonetheless, these unmeasured realms which exist beyond an attometer do realistically exist as theory, and this theory supports the eventual probable reality of discovery, observation, and discernment. We are being stretched beyond our own empiricism into a new knowing of an infinitely expansive consciousness.
We are creating yet more infinite reality. That is because the Mind of the Creator works through us to know Its own playfulness and creation as Itself. That is how I feel and understand it now. Being one with Creation, we are also Creators, seemingly separate beings who are infinitely and fractally nested inside of the breath of Creation which is really our very own Self.
Our true identity is not the physical form in which we masquerade as separate ego units. We are the conscious expression of the Universe being conscious of itself.
This presentation is very simply a delightful, informative, and mind stretching tour, and you may want to take it in pieces. Divide and conquer as you wish.
Here it is. Enjoy this view of just the usual 3 dimensions at The Scale of the Universe. This micro and macro conventional tour from a 3 dimensional perspective is a fun little big tour for those of any age. Take your time, and note each measured stopping point. Spend some time at each measurable stopping point, feeling the inherent Infinity all around each aspect of the Creation which is explained in the examples at that particular stopping point.
The universe has been expanding since its birth which is probably a timeless event which cannot be proven or conceptualized. Earth revolves around the Sun, a medium-sized star near the edge of a medium-sized galaxy, the Milky Way, which contains about 100 billion stars. The Milky Way is about 100,000 light years in diameter. Furthermore, it is one of 100 billion galaxies in the universe.
It is possible that good planets are hard to find inside of this infinite vastness of space. We should be taking better care of our home planet.
The Alpha and the Omega Recurve into Themselves
In the space between the stopping points illustrated in the presentation above is nested even more Infinity. Through the wonder of the toroid and toroidal dynamics the Infinity curves back into itself, and is ever expansive into realms both big and small.
Here is a series of short videos which may serve to demonstrate this concept.
These videos illustrate aspects of my childhood imaginings, with the exception that I tried to imagine this in multiple dimensional planes without any kind of interconnecting bridge between the planes. I did not conceive of and imagine wormhole connections between dimensional planes, but I wish that I had.
In my childhood days I lapsed into being distracted from infinity musings by being grounded as a barefoot boy. It would have been fun to dream of wormholes as a child when my mind was still uncluttered by the propaganda and trauma of schooling. Mark Twain’s statement for barefoot boys comes to mind, “Don’t let schooling interfere with your education.”
Grade school, high school, college, medical school, surgical residency, and surgical practice, while being challenging and lively and rewarding, only served to create a series of identity crises by creating an ego façade which often required some form of defense. Eventually, I learned to step away from such schoolings.
One of my meaningful boyhood schooling adventures was in attending St. John’s Church, a beautiful Episcopal church in my home town. That is where I first heard of the words ascribed to Jesus in the Book of Revelation, 22:13, “I am the Alpha and the Omega.”
The Alpha and the Omega are the beginning and ending letters of the Greek alphabet. A modern day mystical and spiritual interpretation of this statement might infer that Christ consciousness is the Beginning and the End, resolved as Itself into Itself.
This is one of the more enlivening fruits of my past educational adventures. While sitting in church I also proceeded to become infatuated with a particular stained glass window in the church nave which depicts Jesus’ healing ministry. I once took a picture of that stained glass window which I had enlarged and mounted behind glass. It is in my office, along with a stained glass piece of art made by a patient of my mother which depicts the Alpha and the Omega on either side of a Caduceus.
In our life-long process of spiritual consummation we return to the Source from which we came…the Alpha and the Omega recurve into themselves as One, over and over again.
The mystical poet, T.S. Eliot has penned it beautifully. His well known iteration of the toroidal self-resolution of the Alpha and the Omega captures the essence of our life quest well enough, “We shall not cease from exploration. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
Paying Respect to Quantum Physics
When an electron jumps from one orbital level around the nucleus of an atom up to a higher level, it has made a “quantum leap.”
To assist your quick grasp of where the term “quantum” comes from, you can have an easy non mathematical tour through this pictorial exposition of the subject of quantum entanglement. Actually, a lot of quantum theory is offered in this link, and so you can have many rabbit holes to explore here.
The author, David Jarvis, who is not a quantum theorist, states, “Quantum Theory is continually being challenged and tested; physicists are finding new ways to explain the world of the tiny. Each passing year brilliant minds add to, or subtract from, the pool of knowledge about quantum behavior.”
“Unlike the static nature of the web pages presented here, quantum physics is ever changing. Physicists are confronted with problems that will take many iterations, many years, to solve. Scores of theories will be presented, some of them merely tweaking, while others radically alter, our perceptions of quantum nature.”
In the Jarvis presentation, you might enjoy the explanation of “quantum spookiness,” a term first used by Einstein. It is this concept which gives rise to the spin-off consideration known as quantum entanglement. Quantum entanglement then gave rise to the concept of the field of unified consciousness, or, Singularity.
Every conceivable and inconceivable thing and event is entangled as One. Some noted quantum physicists are now calling this Singularity field by a well applied term, the Mind of God.
From the first pictorial description presented above, “The Scale of the Universe,” we learned that the next stopping point smaller than the attometer is the realm of the femtometer where neutrons and protons exist…then we get down into the realm of Quantum Foam…then onward to the realm of Planck Length (named for the mega mind of Max Planck)…and then down to the realm of the String, a place where reality vibrates as infinite strings in some yet unmeasurable field.
From the realm of Strings, the post quantum theorists have envisioned at least 11 different dimensions.
I would ask you to consider that there are infinite dimensions, all fractally and holographically nested inside of and outside of and beyond and between each other. This is not exactly a subject that lends itself to the ordinariness of word abstractions. According to my childhood musings, in such dimensions, which are intermixed and interwoven, the large scales and small scales of infinity recurve back into a toroidal composite of one.
The Heart’s Toroidal Field
The mechanistic dynamics of the universal toroidal field was first (and best) elucidated by Arthur Young in his Theory of Process. This individual’s accomplishments and contributions in toroidal dynamics are important and far reaching.
The electromagnetic field of the human heart demonstrates the same toroidal field dynamics as is seen in Arthur Young’s toroidal topology dynamics. Our heart toroid is measurable for a considerable radius of many feet from a single heart.
Currently, superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUID magnetometers), originally developed in 1972, can measure the human heart field in a radius of 10 to 20 feet away from an individual heart. However, please keep in mind that this is just the sensitivity of the currently existing instrumentation. More sensitive instrumentation would carry the measurement of the heart field out much further.
In the probability of reality, the heart’s toroidal energetic field will be found to be infinite and multidimensional. And so, all interconnecting dimensional wormholes are conceivably present inside of an infinitely universal heart consciousness. Our individual heart fields are scaled down as fractal and holographic nestings inside of a much grander theme. And thus we are all a part of a greater whole.
It is usually the non dual mystical mind which can suspend doubt and appreciate the individual and the whole existing simultaneously, as one.
A recommendation is offered to the reader to view the 2014 movie Interstellar for a nice demonstration of the utility of wormholes, and also for a remarkable dramatic demonstration of Love as the dimensional fabric which carries and bridges dimensions and space-time. The intriguing subject of black holes and singularity is effectively addressed to help demonstrate the power of Love.
The technical adviser was noted physicist Kip Thorne, who won the Nobel Prize in physics in 2017 for his work on gravitational fields. One plot line of this movie is about a great immersion adventure into a black hole, in beyond, and back out again. This part of the story reminds me of the toroidal topology dynamics seen in the 2.5 minute video demo above. Moreover, the movie seems to address some of my earlier considerations and musings from my earlier formative years of entanglement in the chapters of the Gowba Scowba…the unexplained mystery of things.
If we had infinitely sensitive instrumentation, we could be measured everywhere…beyond space and time…by the signature of our heart via the carrier frequency fabric of Love.
Some helpful images of the heart’s toroidal electromagnetic energy field can be enjoyed on this page. Ongoing scientific research into the Heart field’s profound effects on our lives and health will elucidate the holographic and fractal nature of the toroidal field of our personal Heart energetics.

A nice and brief explanation of the Heart’s toroidal field can also be seen in this writing, entitled “What do Heart, Breath, and Universe have in Common?” authored by my Boulder based friend and former mentor on this subject, Bob Whitehouse. This is a nice and brief piece of writing, and I hope you can read it sometime.
Some helpful books from years past which discuss these subjects with a page turning ease of flow are: 1) The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot, 2) The Field by Lynne McTaggart, 3) The Biology of Transcendence by Joseph Chilton Pearce, and 4) The Heart’s Code by Paul Pearsall, Ph.D..
And also, there are just about any of Deepak Chopra’s many fine books (over 80 at present) which may serve to expand and fill in the reaches of your imagination, as you may yearn for more.

What is the Heart doing…and being?
Between each measurable stopping point, from large space giga parsecs all the way to the small space realm of Strings, are many conceivable stopping point of definable measure. I call the intervening “space” between the measurable stopping points by a term, which I learned from my meditation teachers, as “the gap.”
There is a gap, or pause, between each linear measurement, each thought, each breath, each note of the symphony, and each heart beat. It is the pause, or gap, which enables Infinity and order and wisdom to embrace our process. The gap also allows our mind element to make some sense out of the flow of the quanta packets of information.
Just imagine what a symphony would sound like if each musician did not have a score to read from which had the requisite gaps between the notes. I am sure you have heard of (and heard) cacophony. That is what the music would sound like, just unordered cacophonous noise.
Those who are not aware of the gap, may lose touch with the wisdom which is implicate and infinitely abundant therein. We forget about our Source abundance. We lapse into the chaos of scarcity judgment and consciousness while dismissing and forgetting that all of nature is abundant with Source energy.
We only need to give up the long held story of our identity crisis, and instead identify with what is already abundant. That which is already abundant is Source energy; the Singularity, the Mind of God that we are always actively participating in. Then we can write a better story for ourselves.
The gap is rather easy to get to know by quietly watching your in-breath and your out-breath. In between the in-breath and the out-breath is a pause, or gap. The breath merges into us around the heart. As you focus on that gap, it begins to widen and stretches more Infinity into your field.
Your thoughts, which are all judgments, will slow down, and create more gap in that level of cacophony also. I believe that as that happens, things in your life will reach more calm, and life will begin to make more sense to you. You will definitely begin to lose interest in all forms of judgment.
Thoughts may even stop, allowing us to be in a place of peace with our Identity. Since judgment is thought, then judgment ceases as thoughts cease.
Heart collates our spirit Identity and allows Spirit to slow in frequency and stabilize into the human form of God’s creation, which we are. The Heart Mind does not think in words. However, it is 65% neural cardiocytes, and these particular specialized nerve cells are feeling and knowing and longing in a non verbal capacity.
The Brain Mind thinks in words. As the true seat of the Mind, the heart does have an important vital mundane neuromuscular pumping function. However, this function may be the least amazing of its functions, for it is also silently integrating Spirit and purpose into our human form. Thus, the heart may be viewed as the central organizing intelligence of the multidimensional human being.
I ponder an understanding in my Heart Mind…the origin of infinite fractally nested toroidal emanations curving back upon themselves. Beyond all considerations of religion, dogma, ideologies, separatism, spiritual recipes, and left brain reductionism is an indescribable field of consciousness, all of which is nested in us via the mysteries of the heart’s very quiet “other” dynamics.
You are familiar with an important heart sound. The neuromuscular valve closures of the pumping heart creates some noise which is similar to the symphony pauses. You should be able to hear and feel those particular noises. This is one way to “listen to your heart.”
If you get your body and your Brain Mind still enough, you can begin to listen to your own heart valves in action. You can stretch from there into feeling the spiral squeeze of your heart muscle moving your precious blood onward.
The Field of the Mind of God
Some simply refer to Divinity as the Field.
The Sufi poet Rumi once wrote, “Out there is a field which is beyond right doing and wrong doing. I will meet you there.” Rumi’s poetic license captures the a quality of the Field which many call unconditional presence.
We might consider keeping this concept in the forefront of our thinking while moving onward. Many of us prefer to consider Divinity as an active Presence with which we are participating, rather than some abstract form which is external to our being.
What is the nature of the Mind of God, this Field of consciousness which is constantly expanding, contracting, and knowing Itself via all interlocking dimensional possibilities?
Is there any evidence for the existence of the Mind of God that may satisfy our right brain and left brain judgment curiosities and help us know and feel who we really are? Is there some familiar process of Creation which lets us know, irrefutably, that a supreme intelligence is at play?
A 9 minute video from TED may assist your knowing of a form of the peace which passes all understanding. This presentation From Conception to Birth will help you to quietly marvel at our own…the creation of a child.
Creation dreams, creates, plays, and knows itself through its own evolving process. The intelligence of this consciousness is ineffable, and is a wondrous mystery.
I am sure that if you practice putting peace in your heart, then that peace will extend to everyone that you have ever known, and also to everyone that you do not yet know who is coming to you. That peace will also extend to the hearts of those you have known who have crossed over into Life after Life. As you practice this placement of heart based peace, you will be meditating and your thoughts will naturally slow down. The gap will elongate and enlarge itself.
Inside of this syncopation you will be in the time to recognize and celebrate some of the quiet miracles which seek no attention.
And finally, if time dilation, wormholes, and quantum physics fail you, there is always some fascination to be found in the infinity of the toroid.
The Divine image and presence is met in all places and things. Everything in the universe is a fractal, where the part contains and replicates the whole as the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, recurve back into the Unity of Creation.
What is Creation’s idea of Itself as your life?
