This Journal is about Identity of Nature and Self.
I saw a bumper sticker recently which said,”We come here to heal our separateness.”
The basic separateness which we must contemplate is our relationship with, and separation from—Self.
One wonders, “What is Self?”
All of the religions and spiritual paths and teachers and teachings are inching closer and closer to a foundational aspect of what Self is, or how we may access a knowing of it. Quantum and post quantum science are telling us what the shamans, mystics, and enlightened beings have always taught.
Self is a ubiquitously present Conscious energy which permeates all aspects of all dimensions and unites all things as Life. All manner of things are Life. All things are alive as Consciousness.
I believe that Self cannot be comprehended by us humans, on this Earth, without the mirror of Nature. We all need to embrace Nature. This is a start to knowing Self and Life.
Nature is everything.
Can we exist somewhere in this earthly world where there is not Nature?
The earth is Nature and she allows us to see our Self. We can then go into the inner realm of our inner nature.
We are generally suffering from a deficit disorder of Nature—a Nature deficit disorder.
Before there were Bibles and all of the other modern and ancient texts of spiritual guidance, first there was Nature.
She is all around us. The whole of Creation is looking back at us to let us know who we are. We take Her presence for granted; so much so that we humans tamper with Her, usurp Her, and create anomalies and destructive distortions of Her intelligence, abundance, and miracle manifestations.
We do to Nature something that is untrue to Self. That is because we do not understand Self. We disregard and disrespect this mirror which Nature provides to us as to who we are.
The more grotesque and chaotic we become, the more we will transmit this distortion into our world around us. If we do not transform our pain and trauma, then we will transmit it to everything around us.
St. Thomas Aquinas said, “Nature is the primary and most perfect revelation of the Divine.”
This statement is referencing an ultimate spiritual text, and, as a collective civilization we have stopped reading this text. The truth of this statement was apparent before the various anthropocentric assimilations of how to explain the Divine were brought forward by fearful humans who desired their various forms of control so that they could reduce and placate their fears.
Religions were created from an odd distortion of fear, and a need for adoration to placate the fear. Why are there over 30,000 different forms of Christianity? I don’t believe Christ ever spoke of such institutionalized places of worship and scriptural ritual. Do we get caught up in too much little detail in our lives that a walk in Nature cannot help?
Expanding Your Nature Connection
Please consider the following facts as you admire Nature, gaze into the Stars at night, and contemplate your connection to the Stars, the Universe (“One Song”) and to your own Infinity:
We live on a minor planet in a minor solar system in a minor galaxy amongst some 2-4 billion (or more) galaxies in the known universe. Our galaxy, called the Milky Way, is 100,000 light years in diameter – that is 100,000 times 9.6 trillion kilometers.
A light year is the linear distance which light travels in a year of Earth time. To the ordinary mind amongst us, this particular thought example of lineal distance is incomprehensible.
The Earth resides in one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way, which is 25,000 light years from the center of the Milky Way. We now know that the center of our galaxy is emitting a powerful electromagnetic pulse.
Earth’s nearest star is Alpha Centauri. This star is one of the two stars that point to the Southern Cross. As our nearest star, Alpha Centauri is only 4.3 light years away.
Moreover, in consideration of the size of our Sun, you can put 1 million Earths inside of our Sun. If you reduced our sun to the size of a pixel, Antares , which is the red giant star that is the Heart of Scorpio, would be about 3 inches in diameter! Our Sun is a very tiny sun when compared to other known giant suns.
As we learn to read the many texts of Nature, and learn to live by Her order and Love, and we shall stop distorting and destroying what it is that we are.
Get out, get quiet, feel and see and listen to your Self. Look up at the Stars which bring you into All.
If you live in a place of asphalt and concrete and walls, you can plant a seed in a container of earth in your home, and ponder the miracle of the Life of this seed as it opens, sprouts, and grows into a larger Life.
You are that Life and Love.
