COVID Cardiovascular Complications

This Journal presents an objective summary of a recent study on the long term cardiovascular effects of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, and also some subjective editorial about comments registered by the lead author of the study. The Associated Reading list contains important links and references for your review.

First, here are my objective comments on this valuable study.

On February 7, 2022 a team of St. Louis researchers presented their data in the peer reviewed publication Nature Medicine. The article, Long-term cardiovascular outcomes of COVID-19, analyzed the health records of over 11 million US veterans finding that the risk of heart and blood vessel abnormalities was significantly increased in those who had COVID-19 versus those who did not.

This retrospective study examined the post COVID-19 (C-19) cardiovascular complications in almost 154,000 vets in the VA system. There are 20 different types of cardiovascular problems arising in an alarming number of this demographic, which was mostly white males greater than 60 years of age.

The analysis considered a comparison control of over 5.6 million non C-19 veterans during the pandemic months (contemporary controls), and also further back to consider over 5.9 million veterans from pre pandemic 2017 (historical controls).

This study has not been broadened to consider a wider range of other ethnicities and a wider spread of younger age groups. Another feature of this study is that 99.7% of those studied were unvaccinated due to the enrollment period ending before the mRNA vaccines were widely available. Thus, it is unclear if similar rates of cardiovascular complications might occur after breakthrough infections in those who have been vaccinated. Apparently, this rather important consideration is being addressed in another study.

Versus the non-infected controls, those who survived the first 30 days of C-19 had a significant and alarming incidence of cerebrovascular disorders, dysrhythmias, inflammatory heart disease, ischemic heart disease, thrombotic disorders, and other cardiac disorders such as heart failure, non-ischemic cardiomyopathy, cardiac arrest, and cardiogenic shock.

The percentage increase of  a number of the disorders in C-19 vs. controls shows increased risk as follows: 52% stroke, 71% atrial fibrillation, 84% ventricular arrhythmias, 80% atrial flutter, 85% pericarditis, 438% myocarditis, 72% acute coronary disease, 63% myocardial infarction, 75% ischemic cardiomyopathy, 52% angina, 72% heart failure, 145% cardiac arrest, 143% cardiogenic shock, 193% pulmonary embolism, and 109% deep vein thrombosis.

Science magazine reports on the study

Two days after this study was published, the prominent peer reviewed magazine Science printed a more easily readable summary of these important results in an article entitled COVID-19 takes serious toll of heart health–a full year after recovery.

Selected quotes from the Science article follow below.

“The results are stunning … worse than I expected, for sure,’ says Eric Topol, a cardiologist at Scripps Research. ‘All of these are very serious disorders. … If anybody ever thought that COVID was like the flu this should be one of the most powerful data sets to point out it’s not.’ He adds that the new study ‘may be the most impressive Long Covid paper we have seen to date.'”

“Because the researchers used statistical tools to try to correct for the scarcity of women and people of color in the study, the results are likely to be relevant for those groups, too, says Elizabeth Ofili, a preventive cardiologist at Morehouse School of Medicine who focuses on disparities in heart disease between men and women. ‘The correction for gender and race goes a long way,’ she says.”

“The authors say their findings suggest millions of COVID-19 survivors could suffer long-term consequences, straining health systems for years to come. ‘Governments and health systems around the world should be prepared to deal with the likely significant contribution of the COVID-19 pandemic to a rise in the burden of cardiovascular diseases,’ they write in the paper.”

Quoting the lead author of the study, Ziyad Al-Aly, M.D., who is the Director of the Clinical Epidemiology Center, and Chief of the Research and Education Service at the VA Saint Louis Health Care System, the Science article notes…”The researchers controlled for the possibility that the people who contracted COVID-19 were already more prone to developing cardiovascular disease. They found that ‘COVID is an equal opportunity offender,’ Al-Aly says. ‘We found an increased risk of cardiovascular problems in old people and in young people, in people with diabetes and without diabetes, in people with obesity and people without obesity, in people who smoked and who never smoked.'”

“Al-Aly adds: ‘What really worries me is that some of these conditions are chronic conditions that will literally scar people for a lifetime. It’s not like you wake up tomorrow and suddenly no longer have heart failure.’”

Now I transition into my more subjective commentary.

The lead author speculates, and then obfuscates

As for explaining how C-19 might cause such a wide array of cardiovascular problems the Science article continues with these considerations from Dr. Al-Aly…”‘Just how the virus causes long-term damage to the heart and blood vessels remains a matter of debate and active research. One possible mechanism is inflammation of the endothelial cells that line the inside of the heart and blood vessels,’ Al-Aly says.

The researchers also include a laundry list of potential mechanisms, including lingering damage from direct viral invasion of the heart muscle; elevated levels of proinflammatory chemical messengers called cytokines that lead to scarring of the heart; and persistent virus in sites not effectively dealt with by the immune system. While these are all valid possibilities, they are not the most likely cause of the wide array of this amount of cardiovascular pathology.

The Science article then quotes the lead author of the study who made this statement, ‘The putative mechanistic pathways are still in the realm of speculation or hypothesis,’ Al-Aly says.”

The putative mechanistic pathways in the realm of speculative hypothesis?…Is this word salad statement designed to distract and disarm the reader from any further concerns about what toxic agents may be causing so much cardiovascular pathology? Is the author referring to some type of speculative hypothesis existing in a different dimensional realm than the one we live in?

Would Science have published this article if the author had the courage to just say what the most likely cause of the cardiovascular complications is?…I think not.

I believe that Dr. Al-Aly and his team of researchers knows what the most likely mechanistic pathway of the complications is, but the authors and editors are likely very concerned about losing funding and their institutional peer status, and therefore felt it prudent to hedge and defer from giving a direct and meaningful answer.

In the halls where the scientific method is developed and advanced, hypothesis and its rigorous inquiry is the foundational first step towards validation and truth. Via forensic investigations into the triad of hypothesis generation, hypothesis testing, and hypothesis elimination or validation scientific truth is allowed to advance.

However, this study may advance no more scientific truth than what the results show, and the study’s importance may wither and die without wider recognition and consideration of what the putative mechanistic pathway really is.

More is needed.

A Brief Editorial

The word putative derives from the Latin verb putare which means “to consider” or “to think” and refers to something that is generally acknowledged, reputed, or presumed to be. It arrived in the English language in the 1400s, around the time the printing press came to be.

Despite being used for 600 years, I do not recall any of my medical and surgical professors from the 1970s using the word putative. It is a distinctive word that tends to stay in the memory.

I daresay there were no putative mechanistic pathways lying about in the realms of speculation or hypothesis in the minds of my medical and surgical professors; some of whom were world recognized authorities in their fields. My teachers were more committed to dishing out the truth than the lead author of this very important study seems to be comfortable doing; at least for the readers of Science.

Of course, back in the 1970s doctors were not being cancelled, censored, deplatformed, gaslighted, propagandized against, ostracized or losing their jobs for expressing putative mechanistic pathways from the realms of speculation and hypothesis. Times have changed. Government and politics are taking over medicine and health care. Doctors have to conform to externally imposed narratives in order to keep their corporatized jobs and professional peer status intact.

There can be little doubt that free thinking by what should be the intelligent and empowered physician is being controlled by external forces. Will the hypothesis principle survive or will pharma and government turn critical medical science thinking and scientific inquiry into dusty relics on a dusty shelf in some dusty hallway?

Can we expect the respected magazine Science to be coming forward with some explanation from the realms of speculation and hypothesis?…I think not.

The putative mechanistic pathways are still in the realm of speculation or hypothesis is an amazing statement. I am trying to imagine what my professors would have said to any of us doctors-in-training who might have replied to their hot seat clinical interrogations and scrutiny with such a ridiculous word salad quip.

I do not have to stretch my imagination too far when musing about what my professors and my physician parents would say about the current state of most of the physician corps who have capitulated and folded themselves into sold out corporatized medicine.

The spike protein is the likely putative mechanistic pathway

I hypothesize, as have many others, that the cause of all of this inflammatory and thrombotic pathology in the cardiovascular system is the spike protein. The spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 is a well researched entity at this point in the evolution of knowledge about how and why this virus creates so much morbidity and mortality in the human.

Furthermore, the spike protein in the virus is the same spike protein produced by the mRNA vaccines, and this is what has created the same cardiovascular complications in many of those who have been vaccinated. No matter what its form of delivery is, the spike protein of this particular coronavirus is toxic.

I further hypothesize that the pharmaceutical companies that produce these genetic manipulation drugs don’t want such putative speculation about the toxic spike protein to be floating around for the general public to be able to consider.

The global population has participated in an epic experimental trial of allowing their bodies to be used to incubate mRNA driven spike protein. Because of the widespread censorship of those who speak out against the mainstream narratives of SCV-2 and C-19, it is little wonder that the authors of the VA study are hesitant to state what the likely putative mechanistic pathway of so much cardiovascular pathology is. For most anyone who has conducted a critical review of what the virus and vaccine share in common…the spike protein…the likely agent is none other than the spike protein.

I encourage the reader to consider the articles posted below in the Associated Readings list, which include articles on how to help your body detox the spike protein and be rid of it. I am confident that you will come to the conclusion that the spike protein of the SCV-2 virus and the spike protein produced by the mRNA vaccines is the most likely putative mechanistic pathway which created, and is still creating, all of these cardiovascular complications.

A Special Book Review

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Takes on Fauci in ‘Most Important Book’ of Our Times…this is a very informative book review about a very important book. “More than one million people have purchased Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s book The Real Anthony Fauci, the top-selling non-fiction book in the world, since its publication seven months ago. This sales figure is remarkable given that almost all major mainstream news organizations have refused to review the book.”

Fauci has never practiced clinical medicine. He is an aging bureaucrat who has developed a 55 year career of moving medical science sideways. He lies so much, and apparently well enough for gullible believers, that I doubt if he even knows he is lying; the definition of a pathological liar.

Dr. Michael Yeadon, former Pfizer exec believes leaky vaccine was intentional…Michael Yeadon, Ph.D., a former vice-president and chief scientific adviser for the drug company Pfizer, shares why he believes that the narratives around COVID-19 are false and were put into place deliberately to exert control over society. Yeadon is uniquely positioned to speak on this topic, as he has degrees in biochemistry and toxicology, and has studied respiratory pharmacology. A summary of some of the points made in the interview: He says we have been lied to about the magnitude of the threat represented by SCV-2 and C-19. The virus mutates rapidly, which essentially destroys any protection that the shot provides shortly after it’s given. 90% of the immune response mounted after natural COVID-19 exposure is not to the spike protein, but to the whole virus particle. The fact that virtually every country worldwide followed suit in imposing ineffective lockdowns and other mandates suggests that a coordinated, supranational effort was underway. Like others mentioned above, Yeadon has been speaking out regularly about these matters. There are many interviews of him which are available for you to review.
30. How harmful is my COVID-19 batch?–Find out Now…I have been reading about this problem for the past 4 months. According to clinical pathologist Dr. Ryan Cole, M.D., from another article…”These aren’t pure products, and I think this is a very important point. When Pfizer submitted vials to the European Medicines Agency to look at purity … they were in the 50% range … The TGA in Australia looked at it and said, ‘Look, these are only about 60% pure.’ This means you have a lot of fragmented sequences of mRNA that don’t have a stop or a start code on. They’re not coding for what you think they’re coding for. They’re coding for other tinier, shorter fragments. Are those mitogenic? Probably, but we don’t know. Can those reverse transcribe into our own DNA? Studies out of Sweden … show yes, they can …And then, when they manufacture, they can’t spin and agitate these, so you get all these lipids that collect at the top of these big vats. So now you get some batches that are hyperconcentrated and some are hypoconcentrated. Moderna Vaccine Increases Myocarditis Risk by 44 Times in Young Adults: Peer-Reveiwed Study…a French study is reviewed here, along with the so-called “Sudden Adult Death Syndrome” as well as the alarming number of heart complications in young athletes…”Meanwhile, between March 2021 and March 2022 alone—a single year—at least 769 athletes have suffered cardiac arrest, collapsed, or have died on the field, worldwide.”

Its discovery led to a Nobel prize being awarded to the co-discoverers in 2015. It is on the WHO’s list of essential drugs. It has been shown to be effective against SCV-2 and C-19 over and over again in numerous studies from around the world. COVID Vaccine Test Animals Were All Killed Shortly After Vaccination…this is very disturbing information, if true, and I have no reason to believe this is false information based on all of the information cited in the articles above. “They killed them so as to make it impossible to find ‘safety signals’ that arise in vaccinated beings post-vaccination in the long run. This means, with all test animals dead, the scientists could not find out: 1) whether these animals could actually reproduce, 2) whether these animals had shortened lifespans, 3) what happens to the test animals upon COVID reinfections, 4) whether the test animals would be more likely to have cancers or other immune-mediated diseases, and 5) whether the test animals were more likely to suffer from other species-specific illnesses. It is very convenient to kill test animals, because this way, vaccine companies could report that ‘they identified no safety concerns’ — and it is kind of truthful! Book Review: “Vaccination, Social Violence, and Criminality: The Medical Assault on the American Brain”…the author of this book review detaills some of his impressions about a book authored in 1990 by medical historian Harris Coulter, Ph.D. “Coulter argues that everything from the social upheaval of the 1960s to the sharp rise in autism, cranial nerve palsies, depression, suicide, eating disorders, learning disabilities, seizures, allergies, family dissolution, demyelinating disorders, sexual violence, and other forms of psychopathy & sociopathy — all stem, at least in part, from pervasive subclinical encephalitis (and post-encephalitic syndrome) as a result of vaccines. Coulter provides extensive references from the scientific and medical literature at the end of each chapter to document his claims (this was before science and medicine started censoring all discussion of vaccines).” A key word grouping in this quote is “at least in part.” It will be a long time, after much truth digging and investigation of social health data, before we may ever know the full truth of Coulter’s alarming claims. Is everyone’s brain inflamed to some degree? One wonders.

47. Dr. Robert Malone Sues Washington Post for Defamation…Malone is rightfully establishing a sort of landmark case against Big Media. The Washington Post is part of a consortium of media controllers known as The Trusted News Initiative. TNI was founded by the BBC in July, 2019, just months before the C-19 pandemic. See here and here. While TNI claims to promote democracy and freedom, its purpose for being is global information control. Partners in the initiative include global media outlets such as The Washington Post, Reuters, The Associated Press, AFP, the Financial Times and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and Big Tech partners such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Microsoft. TNI was formed mere weeks after a Reuters Institute report revealed trust in U.S. media had slipped to an all-time low of just 29% — the lowest of the 46 countries included. Clearly, people were going elsewhere for the facts, and that probably had everything to do with the creation of TNI. They have no control over alternative media, so they needed a comprehensive way to shut them all down. By suppressing information about early treatment and the adverse effects suffered from the vaccines,  TNI is the converse of “trusted news.” It is the very “fake news” it claims to combat. In addition to TNI, Google also has a similar program going on, called the Google News Initiative, which includes a $300 million funding commitment to the future of the news industry.

56. Theater for Vaccine Hesitancy–Setting the Stage for Difficult Conversations…the medical profession is being encourage to resort to illusion and lying to get people to submit to being vaccinated. Physicianship and medical journal integrity are in a free-fall. In a September 2, 2022, article in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), authors discuss the health care industry’s latest intervention strategy to get the one-fourth of Americans who don’t want the COVID shots, to get them. It’s called “improv theater” and it teaches health care providers how to improvise for each patient to ultimately get them to submit to the shots. Taking tips from methods of Forum Theater, a 1970s style of improvising drama productions, the CDC co-funded a 16-month project “to teach health care workers appropriate, authentic and respectful responses to patient expressions of bias in clinical encounters.” In use with patients, the medical improv “theater” addresses vaccine hesitancy and what the article’s authors call “conspiracy theories” to convince their “audience” — patients — to get the shots. In scripted practice scenes, participants in the project used “a variety of scripted cases [to] address pregnancy, childhood vaccination, younger healthy adults, concerns about speed of vaccine development, and other reasons to fit the audience.” The authors’ conclusions: “As the next phases of the global pandemic arrive and new ones may be on the horizon, addressing vaccine hesitancy will be a continuing challenge. This combination of improvisational theater techniques from the social justice movement grounded in evidenced-based motivational theory may help change vaccine-hesitant conversations, lighten the burden on health care providers, and improve the public’s health.”

65. This Biden Proposal Could Make the US a “Digital Dictatorship”…more horrifying precedent here. A little over a year ago President Biden proposed a plan to set in place a new health agency that would drive the U.S. down a futuristic road that would lead to cures for cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and other diseases. At the time, blogger-journalist Whitney Webb warned that the new biomedical research agency — modeled after the nation’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) — actually is a plan to merge national security with health “security” in a way that would “use both physical and mental health ‘warning signs’ to prevent outbreaks of disease or violence before they occur.” It’s “a recipe for a technocratic ‘pre-crime’ organization with the potential to criminalize both mental and physical illness as well as ‘wrongthink,’” Webb predicted. Now, the agency — coined the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) — is well on its way to being and up and running, with $1 billion from Congress to start. Government officials only need to iron out details such as what programs and activities it will engage in and (of course) what “appropriate” current and future funding will be needed to run it.

WashU Medicine nephrologist has risen to prominence, uncovering society’s biggest health issues…posted here on 7-3-23 is a recent article published in Washington University School of Medicine’s Outlook Magazine about Ziyad Al-Aly, M.D. who is the main researcher in the large VA study described in this Journal writing. Dr. Al-Aly’s accomplishments in research are noteworthy. Some of his major research contributions chronicled in this writing are C-19 cardiovascular complications, the anti-reflux PPI drug problems, pollution and diabetes, and long COVID. I wish that he would lend his research prowess and clout to a look at the spike protein. I doubt if such a truthful consideration of the spike protein as the cause of all of this morbidity and mortality would be sanctioned by the Washington University School of Medicine.
