Here is a good 5 minute video of some joyful music for this day. This is a group playing some of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in D Minor in an open town square, and contains the Ode to Joy written by Friedrich Schiller, later modified by Beethoven.
As this video shows, music is still a universal language of Joy:

This flashmob performance was sponsored by the bank in Spain whose signage you see as Banco Sabadell.
The lyrics of Ode to Joy were written by Friedrich Schiller in 1785, and modified by Beethoven and placed into the 4th movement of his 9th Symphony, a choral symphony. You can view the German lyrics and the English translation half way down inside of this link: wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphony_No._9_(Beethoven).
Crestone and Beyond
Here is another very good 2 minute video entitled Lightning in a Jar. This is a life perspective on all humanity, and is related to the video above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnAJ41P5BDE&noredirect=1.
Amazingly enough, we are still making bombs and military machines which blow up nice people; just like the nice people and musicians in the flashmob Beethoven performance.
Such savage and backwards endeavors have also bankrupted all of the countries which have pursued such.
This is not normal human behavior. We have been propagandized, conditioned, and desensitized to the acts of killing, suffering, and destruction which occur daily. By some collective abominable perversion, we have come to view violence in the world as “to be expected,” and we are complicit in sanctioning it as normal.
As the poet Rumi once said, “If you are unfaithfully here among us, you are causing immense harm.”
One can always join a Peace Movement or write to your President, Senator, or Congressional representative to express your views. Actually, such an attempt to contact your favorite politician will be nothing short of fruitless. These actors are all owned by the military industrial complex, as well as by the associated corporatocracies which support the military, petro, and banking industries.
However…if taken into your own grass roots efforts..
One can stop promoting and buying violent video games.
If you are a Hollywood actor, actress, or director you can always boycott contributing to the making of films which promote violence and destruction. You can do that. It will actually help a lot.
The word sacrifice comes from the Latin sacrum facere, “to make sacred or holy.”
To bring lasting Joy to the world, we must all be willing to sacrifice in a manner which is written into the very word itself.
Now catching some of that world peace and bottling it…that would be good.
Signing off from Crestone and Beyond.
