This is Branka's poppy in Abbodanza's Arbor, a picture taken by my friend Branka with her iPhone in late July, 2010. By then the Arbor was growing really big abundant everything, and so we had to start cutting back on alot, like knocking off the tomato suckers, and thinning the carrots, etc. The cabbages are huge, the flowers are something else, the tomato vines need suspension, all of the succotash beans were picked, the lettuce and wheat grass have been eaten or drunk, and then replanted. One learns much from how one plants a space such as this, which helps one plant next year's tender croppes more appropriately. Our next step is to pull all of the bean vines, as they are done, and begin replanting for cold hardy plants, like more carrots, other root vegetables, crucifers (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, spinach, etc.), lettuces for the winter, etc. FYI-cruciferous vegetables have a flower arrangement that blooms in the shape of a cross.
