GOOP’s Power Trip, Part II, Thoughts on the Origins of Haelan LifeStream, Part I

This is a follow on entry to the Journal entry posted on July 1, 2010 entitled GOOP’s Power Trip, Part I.This entry will cover some references for your library about food, household, and cosmetics toxicities. I have some ideas about recycling to present. There will also be a cartoon humor piece, that you can refer back to anytime that my writings become too “hard hitting,” and may perhaps trigger an anxiety attack in your mind body.

This entry will also explain certain considerations about the origin of the Haelan LifeStream model.  I use  this model in my own day to day practice of body, mind, emotions, and spirit. I peruse the pages and chapters and books of my life, and rewrite them into the future memory of a healed Gaia.

I share appropriate and pertinent pieces of this model  with my clients, as an individual or a couples’ needs indicate. We build the knowledge and experiential base upwards on subsequent consults after they have gone out and cooked up more Brain Mind stuff and drama.

The Haelan LifeStream model is organized in such a manner so as to assist with keeping us on track during the usual 2-3 hour consultations. This type of work is not well suited for the shorter style of consult timeframes commonly utilized by health practitioners of other skills sets, which are usually uni-dimensional; i.e., skill sets limited to just one aspect of a human life.

Nonetheless, if a client wants to know only about some uni-dimensional aspect, such as the supplements that she needs to deal with her cholesterol issues, or her osteoporosis, or her thyroid malfunction, or her hypertension, or her low energy, etc., then we will just focus on those particular wants and needs. The client tells me what they want, and I assist them in their desires, from A to Z.

However, be advised, clients need to be careful with me and how I conduct my consults because I can get them curious about a more expanded way of considering their needs in a hurry. They may have arrived at the office with some questions about their cholesterol problems, and so I explain the real state of the art science about LDL particle size and particle number, and how it comes to past that the small LDL particles are more risky, and how they help to create subintimal atherosclerotic chemistry.

They are fascinated. No physician has ever explained so much to them. “Why didn’t my doctor tell me that?”

My answer is invariably something along the lines of, “Well, you have to try to understand that most of the medical system doesn’t talk about human biochemistry. They are trained to think in terms of pharmaceuticals, and seem to have forgotten that the body has untold healing mechanisms at play, and we really need to assist those mechanisms on a long term basis. Your doctor is just ‘practicing’ mainstream medicine, which means that he/she has to write you a Rx for something. That way, they are perceived as being like their contemporaries, who are in the herd, and they will keep getting referals from the herd members. Furthermore, they practice a fear based approach, feeling that they might get sued for being anything but conventional, you see? Moreover, the insurance payors have them by the Balls with all of the capitated plans that dictate how much they are going to be paid per visit, and so your doctor has to move through the consult quickly, and on to the next patient in order to get the office overhead covered and accrue any profit in the course of an ordinary day of being an ordinary doctor. And don’t forget, the word ‘Doctor’ is from the Greek, and it means ‘Teacher.’ There now, where were we?”

The client already knows all of this, as it turns out. People are not stupid about the inadequacies of mainstream conventional medicine: 1) The pharmaceutical industry has its grip on one cohone, 2) The malpractice concern has its grip on the other cohone, 3) The insurance companies then put the squeeze on the cohones and the screw job on the consumer–THE PATIENT!

It is no small wonder. Patients know they are being screwed by the insurance companies, and they are highly suspicious of the medical industry. Now they will have to contend with the O-Man’s new health care reform package, which is onerous, and fascist, and will complicate health care delivery into another boo-ra-crazy.

The latest medical system monster is Electronic Medical Records. It is a mandate. Everything that your doctor does with you has to be electronically recorded into some computer. It is onerous for the already overburdened physician, and you should be somewhat concerned about the security and humanity of this. Moreover, it takes your physician more and more away from real communication with you, face to face. They might not even look at you during the consult because they are so compressed with one more bureaucratic burden of tapping the keys and correcting the misspellings of the electronic voice recognition system. Preposterous.

The consumer patient’s problem lies in how we have all been brain washed by the medical industry and Big Pharma to accept such and such a “drug” (comes from the Dutch word “drogge,” which means “herb”) as a quick fix. We are all conditioned to the quick fix, which is not compatible with natural order.

Back to how I conduct consults. After explaining the ins and outs of the molecule called cholesterol and how it is essential for life, and how it is made, and how it is transported around in the blood stream in these nifty lipoprotein entities, and how these mechanisms can go awry, I then explain that the whole vascular system (the one I used to operate on) is all part and parcel with the Heart. The Heart and its vessels are One. This unified organ is pulsing its message to every cell.

Then I dangle the concept of Heart resonant frequency, Heart rate variabilty, and some other associated tidbits about the Heart’s other functions, give them a short article (4 pages) on these subjects, ask them to read it about 3 times (start underlining on the 2nd read), and consider a biofeedback look at how their Heart is really doing at some future date. I explain that how the Heart vibrates determines what the client  is attracting into their life. It’s really very straightforward. Furthermore, I am not the one who “discovered” this, or elucidated these real science facts. I’m not that smart. Nevertheless, I do have a certain “grasp” of the material.

It’s the Fascination Business. People actually start generating some interest in self accountability, and yes, they want those supplement recommendations as well, thank you. I send everyone to Designs for Health (800-847-8302). This is the best nutritional supplement company, and is the only one allowed in my home and body. They do the real research, and the real formulations; the ones that work.

The Haelan LifeStream model is the only one that I am aware of which comprehensively encompasses the significant issues of body, mind, emotion, and spirit through the unifying awareness and energetic of Heart based consciousness, and the healed Heart.

“The Heart is the hub of all sacred places. Go there and roam in it.”  These are the words of Bhagavan Nityananda, a great Siddha, the Guru of my teacher, Swami Muktananda. Muktananda moved me into my own Heart during a very difficult time in my life. That was back in 1979. His words infected me, and there is no cure for this infection. Over the course of my days, I find myself roaming there more and more. It is a gentle daily practice.

This Journal entry will enjoin a review of the various and sundry toxicities in our lives, from the emotional ones to the petro ones. They all start to add up inside of us if we keep hanging around them.

There is an important story in my life that may help some of you women, and those of you who are associated in some way with these women. This is a story about my travels in the phenomenon known as breast cancer. Breast cancer is a preeminent worldwide concern. It affects everyone. Why is it in our lives?

It is one representative disease state which originates in the unhealed chaos of the Heart Chakra. It is almost that simple. Breast cancer, and all disease states of Heart Chakra organs, have their basis in unresolved (recognized and/or unrecognized) grief memories. Grief is the demon frequency of an unhealed Heart.

Unresolved grief helps to enable disease states such as: heart diseases, lung diseases, immune system disorders, and esophageal disorders. A whole lot of people have problems in these organ systems. There is a lot of unresolved grief. We have been conditioned to trudge around with it.

Breast cancer, like all cancers, like all aberrant chaotic cell growth patterns, is an emotional process. I had figured this out by 1999, and left surgery in 2001 to begin practicing Haelan LifeStream, a model to help people heal and rearrange their psyche through the ongoing process of the spirtual healing journey of their lives.

The psychic electromagnetic rearrangement is done through trauma resolution, the development of Heart based consciousness,  learning what one’s Heart based primary (passionate) motivators are, and then developing a Vision statement (process) about what one wants to manifest as a future memory. The future memory, like the past memory, informs who we are becoming in the present. Both past and future memories are pre-sent to the Now. The key to this manifestation process is how we are registering our emotions in the body, and how this registration affects the Brain to Heart reflex override, which is the predominant pathway in our civilization.

The universe, or Mind of God, will continue to deliver (present to us) a manifestation that is based on the energetic frequency which the Heart Mind is putting out there. The Heart is doing a lot more than pumping blood around, arguably the least important of its functions.

Emotions are feeling states, frequencies of vibration that we feel in our bodies. We do not feel emotions in our brain, we feel emotions in our bodies. The limbic system of the Brain Mind goes about a high velocity neuroplastic management of incoming emotional feeling states, and collates these feelings through memory pathways in the amygdala and hippocampus, with ongoing information exchange with the prefrontal cortex. In our Brain Mind we register thought processes which amount to our own individualized unique way of thinking about the emotions that have just been triggered and noticed in the body.

Here are some important guidelines about your process:

1 ) Disease is the beginning of the healing process, 2) we need the body to heal in, and, 3) if we can feel it, we can heal it.

Moreover, you will require a refined Ego, an evolved Intellect, to do all of this with. So, don’t give up your Ego to any person, teacher, teaching, God, institution, path, or whatever/whoever it is that is attempting to manipulate your boundaries. Don’t try to beat up your Ego, deny it, throw it away, or keep on judging and castigating it, as is taught in all of those phony “religions.” Don’t let someone else do your feeling and thinking for you!

A phony religion is any process that continues to propagandize and brain wash you with guilt and shame. The word “religion” is etymologically derived from Latin, re ligio. Ligio is the root word for ligate, and so the word religion really refers to how one re-ligates, or ties back to one’s self, one’s Divinity.

One ties back with one’s Sutras (Sanskrit base of “suture”). The Sanskrit word sutra means “to set right.” Your personal sutras are the ones that assist you in manuevering your Belief systems onto the right track, while giving up the ones that no longer serve you.

It is not necessary to read and study all of the innumerable and beautiful and pertinent and wise Sutras written through the course of human history. You need one Sutra. It is the Sutra of Self Love. All aforementioned sutras boil down to that one sutra. It is a strong suture. It won’t break. The knots tied and and the issues of the tissues bonded with this suture won’t slip.

You must pull all weeds in the Garden of Self Love. You might need to consult with an experienced gardener.

And so, you are your own psychic surgeon, and gardener. You do the process yourself. It never jumps on you from the outside of you, although it is helpful to use outside guides and helpers who are in your lives to enable your re-ligio and suturing. As an example, all of the surgeons that I ever knew had mentors. Mentors and teachers are usually necessary to help catalyze our process of discovery of who we are wanting to become.

Conversely, the process of the bestowal of Divine Grace (shaktipat) is an example of how healing might jump on you and infect the rest of your life.

I am not aware of an outbreak of wellness ever being responsible for the healing process, but I wouldn’t rule it outeither. The 100th monkey phenomenon is akin to a spontaneous outbreak of wellness. With all of the new Light frequencies coming into Gaia these days, we can hold a space of hope for an outbreak of wellness.

In the meantime, we refine the mechanism of our Ego into non judgment, forgiveness, unconditional presence, and some other practical advantages, such as clarifying the Emotional Guidance System.

Become aware of your own authentic Identity, your Divinity. Begin to lose interest in your various identity crises, and the ensuing daily dramas. This requires a daily practice. Practice implies that you are OK with so called setbacks. Keep practicing. Practice makes the master. Persevere.

The only purpose for your daily dramas is to gently remind you of where you are, and that some re-ligio and suturing may be in order. You might have to employ some dissection techniques to get down in there where the pathology is rooted. Think of your life as walking into your own personal OR everyday, replete with all of the other high powered and dysfunctional egos that you will require as grist for your mill. These gristly egos are mirrors of you. You must grind whatever grist is required in this mill. Take your Heart with you.

It is a play of consciousness. In Sanskrit the term for this is Chitishaktivilas.

There is a book by that name, Play of Consciousness, the personal spiritual autobiography written by my teacher, Swami Muktananda. He taught me about the primacy of the Heart. He led me into an understanding of our multidimensional nature back in the days when I was training in New Orleans and Baltimore as a surgery resident. It was an unusual, but natural, combination of trainings.

One day I asked him about a difficult relationship issue which my former wife and I had evolved into the dynamic of our relationship. He looked at me, and simply said, “Try more Love.” These words of Grace have never left me. Even as Nancy and I separated, and experienced acrimony, I was able to return to Muktananda’s advice over time. It is one of my tried and true and trusted personal sutras.

These days, Nancy and I are on very friendly and loving terms. Her daughter from her second marrriage, which also ended, Lily, now 18, considers me as her father in all ways but the biological one. This is the result of Muktananda’s words, and this is a result of Love.

During your psychic surgeries your Brain Mind thoughts begin to become more clear, and then you can clarify and understand the Emotional Guidance System more efficiently, and then your Brain Mind thoughts become more clear, and so on, loop to loop fashion.

The Brain Mind can then be used to assist the Heart Mind instead of fighting it and overruling it, and damaging it, and damaging the body. The cells of the body are signalled and informed by the Heart Mind. If the Heart Mind is being beat up by the Brain Mind, then the signalling to the cells will be chaotic, and will alter their natural cellular expression. This is the most important cause of all of these so called disease diagnosis states that people get labeled with.

The diagnosis label, to me, is just a descriptive applied to an individual with a symptom complex. Breast cancer in one woman is different from breast cancer in another woman because the underlying Heart based wounding pattern is unique to each woman. There are similarities that I am familiar with, but it is always a unique healing journey, and cannot be cook-booked.

The purpose of the Brain Mind is to serve the Heart Mind by helping to discern a pathway of manifestation of the unified Vision which incorporates the Primary Motivators and the future memory that you want to bring to the present from a future memory “choice point.”

What future memory choice point do you desire?

The term “choice point” was first introduced in 1957 by quantum physicist Hugh Everitt III, who conceived of vertical time, in addition to the ordinary horizontal time which we have been conditioned to know as past, present, and future. He derived the quantum theory that the shamans and mystics had previously refered to as “Circular Time” or “Sacred Time.” In these variants of time, all things past, present, and future are happening at once. The Greek philosophers refered to linear time as chronos, and they refered to circular time as kairos. In the minds of these various knowers, time is holographic. One scintilla of time contains all time.

The ordinary human consciousness will experience difficulty is a knowing of this concept until such consciousness liberates itself.

As Everitt’s protégé, Albert Einstein, put it, “The purpose of Time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.”  That way, we don’t get overwhelmed and traumatically dissociate from overload in our limited and slow moving conscious minds. At our Superconscious mind level we merge with the Mind of God, surveying all of Time. At our core, we are that. Because of this, an outbreak of wellness is possible.

Your practice extends into everyday, bit by bit. It is like the “practice of medicine/surgery.” You just get better and better at your practice until the Symptoms of Inner Peace begin to emerge. You begin to lose interest in judgment. Life becomes more effortless as your frequencies of vibrational offering and vibrational attraction begin to align, and desired manifestations arrive.

There are 17 key emotions in what I refer to as the Emotional Tool Box, or the Emotional Guidance System. Usually people who are carrying a lot of traumatic imprint (physical, emotional, sexual;  covert and/or overt forms of these. That covers all of us, yes.), are carrying around an Emotional Tool Box that is chaotic, disorganized, dysfunctional, and so clobbered up that when they need, say, their utilitarian anger to protect their boundaries, they cannot find the hammer in the tool box because it is buried underneath a pile of other tools.

Under such circumstances, you might ponder what you are going to do with the anger that was just triggered, and you could not find a way to express your hammer. Are you going to hurl it out there at someone, and hurt them, and give yourself more guilt and shame? Or are you going to freeze up with the fear of the unwieldy emotion chaos construct, and just bury it back into your body?

Basically, we don’t get to practice wielding the hammer of utilitarian anger, we just keep practicing the disabling form of anger which I refer to as shadow anger. This has negative consequences in the flesh. The practice of shadow anger invariably means we are also simultaneously practicing shadow apathy, grief, fear, desire, and pride. That is quite a cluster of chaos to be throwing around out there, or burying back into the inner world that it came from.

Shadow apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, and pride are very different feeling states when contrasted with their utilitarian counterparts. The shadow forms of these 6 key emotions are a reflection of unresolved trauma, which is no more than guilt and shame memoried in the flesh, the psyche. The utilitarian use of these 6 key emotions will protect and heal your life, as they are intended to do. I help guide people into an awareness about how one shifts from the shadow to the utilitarian emotional usage.

Our issues are held inside of our psyche, memoried in the flesh, and inform the Heart electromagnetic field via Brain Mind chaos, which then reinforms the cellular/DNA matrix. I call this mechanic the Grief Box. The Grief Box must be honored for healing to begin.

The Grief Box is a Treasure Box. Become familiar with it. Rummage around in it, reorganize it, be OK with it. After all, it has become a big part of your story, yes? Maybe have a look at your story, the one you keep telling, the one that enables your self sabotage, and keeps you in your comfort zone.

Take Heart, and open the rusty hinges of that closed Grief Box. The rusty hinges are guilt and shame. The WD 40 that you need to spray on these hinges is called Self Love. Then insert the key of Self Love into the locked keyhole, and turn it. Open the Grief Box, behold its wonders, and as you go inside, let yourself weep with release and newfound joy.

Back in my surgery days, I did a lot of breast surgeries, and developed an expertise in breast cancer processes and their solution. I discovered that breast cancer would show up in women who had none of the numerous elucidated risk factors, which include: no pregancies, first pregnancy after age 30, personal history of breast cancer, family history of breast cancer, use of synthetic hormone replacement therapies (synthetic estrogens and progestins, and yes, oral contraceptives), Ashkenazi Jewish heritage, BRCA I & II genetic factors, hair dyeing, etc. The list of 35, or so, risk factors is long, but these examples come to mind.

In May 1988 I met a woman named Juliet Wittman. She had a breast cancer process which I assisted her with. Later on, in her post recovery period she wrote a book about her journey, the beginnning of her healing process. The book is entitled Breast Cancer Journal, A Century of Petals. It was published in 1993 by Fulcrum Press. It became one of the five finalists for Book of the Year, but was disqualified because the author was born in Great Britain. I think it would have won. Juliet thinks the same.

Juliet was an editor for our local newspaper, The Boulder Daily Camera, and so she understands how to write. I recommend this book to anyone facing breast cancer, and to those who face it with them.

A chapter from the book, Chapter 20, called The Gift, was widely circulated by the AP, and appeared in many newspapers around the country. It even appeared in the monthly Tulanian, the magazine of Tulane University. The double wrapped strands of Rudraksha beads (“meditation beads”) about the neck of the surgeon appeared in many writings around the country. I’m confident that conventional surgeons who may have seen this article were appalled.

Juliet’s process, and her subsequent writings, including her well researched subsequent articles on everyday toxicities, began to inform all levels of my radar and reticular activating system. She helped to catalyze my emergence, even as I assisted her own.

She wrote one article about a book she discovered, Diet for a Poisoned Planet, How to Choose Safe Foods for You and Your Family, by David Steinman, Ballantine Books, 1990. In this book Steinman divides food groups, additives, drinks, etc. into green light, yellow light, or red light foods. The green light foods are “generally regarded as safe (GRAS),” because they do not concentrate environmental toxins as much as the yellow and red light foods. Good guidelines.

For instance, all of you bourbon and scotch drinkers are imbibing significant amounts of urethanes which are highly carcinogenic. Red light drink. Try gin, vodka, tequila, or beer which contain no urethanes. Yellow light drink. You can read all about the chemistry of how this happens in the production of bourbon, scotch, and some wines and ports, in Steinman’s book.

Steinman went on to co-author another book along the same theme with Samuel Epstein. M.D. who is the author of The Politics of Cancer. Their collaborative effort is the book The Safe Shopper’s Bible, A Consumer’s Guide to Nontoxic Household Products, Cosmetics, and Food, published by Macmillan in 1995. It is more wieldy than Steinman’s previous effort, and is an excellent complement to Diet for a Poisoned Planet.

In 2002 another excellent reference text came out, Drop-Dead Gorgeous, by Kim Erickson, Contemporary Books, forward written by Dr. Samuel Epstein. This book is comprehensive and is loaded with useful information about cosmetics for skin, hair, eyes, lips, teeth, and nails.

These 3 books are a good starting point for consideration of the daily toxicity issues which beset us as a result of petro industry spin offs. Now we are back to GOOP’s Power Trip, Part I.

One important habit we can all practice is recycling. Recycling involves a consideration of everything we throw away as “trash.” The trash ends up in land fills. Much of it is reusable, and will assist in decreasing our dependence on suckling from Gaia’s petro tit.

Over in The Big City we had curbside recycling. Not so out here at The End of the Road. Here I keep a station in our residence sunroom and in the garage where all recyclable materials accumulates into a volume large enough to fill the truck. By the time I have accumulated that much stuff, I have devised a number of errands to run up in Salida, CO. And so I load up the truck every month or so, and drive 45 miles north to unload the recyclables, and reload the truck with more stuff.

Along the way, in my various little travels, I will stop on the roadside to pick up this, that, and the other litter that people carelessly eject, and much of that I recycle also. I have recovered some amazing pieces from the side of the road. I have at least one good story to Journal some day about something I found on the roadside during one of my clean up efforts. That story will be called The Angel from Montgomery. This is the title of a song by the same name written and sung by John Prine, and well as numerous other subsequent artists. This little story is about how we show in each other’s lives for a reason. It is a great recycling story.

I’m confidant that the good Beelzebubba’s who throw their Pabst Blue Ribbon cans, etc., about have simply forgotten the manners that they were never taught, or maybe they are feeling a little rebellious and defiant, and so they are acting out some shadow emotions as result of not having any WD 40 in their lives with which they might open their personal Beelzebubba Grief Box, and behold the beauty which they undermine when they toss that litter.

Back to my personal recycling efforts: Those little styrofoam peanuts, and styrofoam sheets and blocks, and all sorts of other packing material are collected in a large plastic bag and dropped off at Always Azul Pottery, the world known pottery establishment up in Villa Grove, CO, on the way to Salida. Their pottery is shipped all over Gaia, and the packing material is welcomed by the pottery makers and packers. I cannot predict what the recipients of the recycled packing material then do with it. Maybe some of it comes back to me.

One can become as fastidious about recycling as one wants to be. It is my observation that average citizens just throw everything away, all the paperboard, cardboard, office paper, shredded paper, plastics, glass assortments, metal assortments, etc. This practice is pure intentional unconsciousness, laziness, and non caring. This is hard on Gaia.

All of those plastic bags that you go through everyday? You can reuse them by washing them out, and letting them simply air dry. You can look through Lehman’s Non-Electric Catalogue, www.lehmans.com, and get this simple little pop open plastic bag drying rack. We use our’s daily. It is one small recycling effort that begins to add up.

We actually put our real garbage container out about once a month. The Waste Management company that picks up weekly out here, and so they are getting a good deal on us. I placate myself with the notion that I am doing everything I can to reduce my carbon footprint, from growing much of my own food, to being solar powered, to recycling, to using CFL’s, to eco this and eco that. My fine efforts are somewhat neutralized by the use of the Ford truck, but at least I fill the tires with nitrogen, a subject I covered in the lengthy GOOP’s Power Trip, Part I entry posted on July 1, 2010.

After I left my surgical chapter behind in 2001, I set up shop in my spacious north Boulder home. My sons had grown, and so their bedrooms and playroom became a large office area where I started a new practice of helping people via the Haelan LifeStream model. A few years later I was approached by an enthusiastic young lady who managed a thermography business in nearby Louisville, CO. Her name is Tirza Derflinger.

Tirza wanted to educate the world about breast cancer, and so she gathered up some of us holistically minded health care practitioners, and we proceeded to write a little book. Tirza is the lead author. It is still the best and simplest book about breast cancer reduction risk that I know of. It comes with an educational CD, and worksheets to assist the reader in personal risk assessment.

The name of this little jewel is Better Breast Health for Life! Significantly Reduce Your Risk of Breast Cancer NOW!  We self published in 2005 as the Breast Health Education Group. There are 7 co-authors. See www.BetterBreastHealthforLife.com. The hotlinks on this site are excellent sources of additional information on breast health and other health related matters, and you can also order the book here. I do not receive any royalties on your purchase of this book.

In addition to assisting Tirza with editing and publishing, my small contribution is noted on page 31, and reads thus:

“For 20 years, Dr. John R.M. Day, M.D. was a breast surgeon in Boulder, Colorado. One common thread among all the women he encountered with breast cancer was that each had experienced some emotional heart-felt trauma, usually in a 2 to 5 year period prior to the onset of the cancer, and its susequent diagnosis. He suspects that unresolved traumas related to experiences of grief can negatively impact the energy field around the heart and contribute to the development of breast cancer.”

“Today he works as a certified holistic practitioner and helps women to resolve old emotional and physical traumas, and to develop healthy nutrition and exercise regimens, mental and emotional clarity, self love, spiritual awareness and alignment, and vision for life goals. He is profiled in the chapter, ‘About the Authors’ in the event you choose to seek a similar specialist in your local area.”

On the next page, Tirza goes on to discuss a little bit about chakras. The chakra subject is a big broad wonderful subject, and allows me the expansiveness I need to intuitively stretch out into a client’s psychic wounds.

These days Tirza goes about Colorado offering her thermogram clinics in 8 different locations. Thermography is an excellent tool to help assess risk and presence of breast cancer. It complements the current digital mammography, which is light years ahead of the older mammography technique in vogue during my surgical tenure. Ultrasonography and MRI breast assessment were also useful tools in my practice, as they are today in the current conventional practice of planning surgical treatment, and long term follow up.

Thermography uses infrared (IR) photography, and so it does not impose any negative frequencies (radiation) for our health. It can be used to look at any body area, but is highly developed for breast assessment. It measures one’s thermal risk assessment, or thermobiological risk ratings. Tirza explains this technique and the rating scale in chapter 8 of this simple, smashing, and empowering little 110 page book. Recommended.

The average breast cancer takes years to grow large enough to be visible by mammography. Furthermore, mammography will miss (false negatives) up to 10% of breast cancers. Thermography assesses thermal signs of the blood supply supporting developing cancers (angiogenesis), potentially years earlier.

Tirza can be reached at The Thermogram Center at 303-664-1139. Toll free: 866-492-2174.

Now, it is time for that little humor pice I referenced up at the beginning of this entry. Watch it and laugh, or weep. It’s pretty funny, and sadly, it is a true indication of a point that I made in the GOOP’s Power Trip I a few weeks back, and have strongly alluded to above in my indictment of the woes of the medical industry.

We have, all of us, become petro disposal units. That is a somewhat aberrant viewpoint, but if you look around in your life, you will find the evidence. And remember, conventional pharmaceuticals are delivered via petro carrier bases.

Here’s your humor video, assuming you are still with me, you deserve to view this little clip:

http://www.cafeoflifepikespeak.com/Videos/Licensed%20To%20Pill.swf

Pretty funny, huh? Furthermore, I agree that we are a bad influence on the ET beings.

And now, here’s a bit about my favorite cosmeceutical, VASELINE! I promised this piece back in GOOP’s Power Trip, Part I.

Actually, my favorite cosmeceutical is the CoQ10 cream (called Q Avail Cream) which I rub on my face every night.  I order this product from Designs for Health, 800-847-8302.

I also rub on another cream which contains pregnenolone, MSM, glucosamine, and Emu oil. It is called World Emu, Arthritis Pain Cream. You can use it for arthritis pain should you desire, but I use it on my face because of all the good chemistry it contains to assist connective tissue integrity. So maybe your skin will keep that youthful subcutaneous connective tissue resiliency. Distributed by World Emu, Inc., Decatur, Alabama, 888-783-1810, www.worldemu.com.

Vaseline, petrolatum, or petroleum jelly has its origins in the early oil well sites in Pennsylvania. The raw material for petroleum jelly was discovered in 1859 in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on some of the country’s first oil rigs. Workers disliked the paraffin-like material forming on rigs because it caused them to malfunction, but they used it on cuts and burns because it was felt that it  hastened healing of cuts, burns, scrapes, and was felt to be a good roughneck’s salve.

Robert Chesebrough was a young chemist, whose previous work of distilling fuel from the oil of sperm whales, found his business rendered obsolete by petroleum. And so he went to Titusville to see what new materials might have commercial potential. Chesebrough took the unrefined black “rod wax”, as the drillers called it, back to his laboratory to refine it and explore its potential uses. Chesebrough discovered that by distilling the lighter, thinner oil products from the rod wax, he could create a light-colored gel. The stuff is just a bunch of petro hydrocarbons, and that is the origin of Vaseline.

I wouldn’t rub it on your baby’s butts for diaper rashes, really.

What I do with Vaseline is to rub it into all of those cotton balls that I collect and recycle from my numerous supplement containers. I use gloves sometimes, but if I don’t care about absorbing all of that petro, then I’ll just reach in a jar of vaseline, grap a large glop of it, and rub it into as many cotton balls as I can hold in my two hands and smear at once.

Then I package the little bombs in plastic bags, where they remain until called upon to be ignited with a magnesium striker, a common match stick, or a butane lighter. Presto! An instant fireball emerges in not too big of an incendiary hurry. It doesn’t like blow up or anything. It just lights up in a nice steady strong flame, in rain or shine.

It is excellent tinder for a fire, and should be packaged in all survival, preparedness, and camping packs. There you go. It may save your life. The people on these TV survival shows never talk about it. No big deal. Now you know.
